Please Wait To Be Seated.

after many moons, dad and myself decided to plunge into buying a seat for the cortina. it was a frantic time searching through the galleries of cyberspace in particular zerotohundred where we found these old pair of seats taken from an AE82 i'm told.

although they don't match colour-wise, but the design is old-school and matches the back somewhat with the bumps and all.

Photobucket

old generation seats in this picture not in chronological order. AE82 (early 80s), Cortina MK3 (early 70s) and the Bluebird (late 70s to mid 80s) in the background.

so fellow readers, should i reupholster the front to match the back (shame though, as the seat's in good condition!) or match the back to the front (both material and colour) or re-wrap both in some sort of faux black leather? comments always appreciated.

Wow. Just read your whole blog. It made me laugh but also sympathise when you were dealing with the welders. Hope you haven't given up and I have one suggestion: refit the plinth on the boot. It appears on your blog at the top of each page and deserves to be on the finished car. Keep up the good work. Graham (living in Scotland)

Looks really good Nick!

IMHO, the seats would be great if matched to the rear, black leather with those fine stripes. Gives it a classic muscle car type of feel, which I think is awesome for the work you have put in for the engine. Its gonna be wicked!

Oh btw, its me, Sean! A friend of Seat Jian!

Sean,

Have we met? If not, maybe the next yumcha I have with Seat Jian it'll be in the Cortina then we can meet up. :)

Your suggestion has been noted though, mmm.

Anonymous,

The problem is, the plinth is in horrible condition which is why I'm not planning to have it refitted. But I am holding on to it, just in case.

Cheers. :)
